Since its inception, the Lorain County Life Savers Ball has raised more than $4 million to help the American Cancer Society free our community from the pain and suffering of cancer. Over the last 38 years, we have been able to make a positive difference in the lives of those battling cancer in our Lorain County community through such programs as Reach to Recovery and our transportation assistance program, Road to Recovery. Thank you for your continued support of the Life Savers Ball through the years!
39 years ago the American Cancer Society joined forces with a small group of local citizens to host a dinner. Its proceeds benefited cancer patients in our community. Unknowingly, they found lightening in a bottle! In the span of a few years, the dinner concept morphed into our Life Savers Ball. Venues and sponsors have changed but one constant remains: our community’s commitment to help those in need. We are proud of our four decades of existence and we are dedicated to continuing our efforts.
LeadershipAs the only organization combating cancer through advocacy, discovery, and patient support, the American Cancer Society has made significant contributions to the fight against cancer over the last 110 years. We advocate for lifesaving policy changes, promote healthy lifestyles to help prevent cancer, and provide information, answers, and support to people in every community who have been touched by cancer. We also research cancer and its causes to find more answers and better treatment.
Yet, there is still work to be done – which is why we are so glad you have joined us tonight! The American Cancer Society continues to work tirelessly to fund research and provide support for all types of cancer. And thanks to your generous support, we work to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
Every cancer. Every life.
